Our reed diffusers are designed to fill your home with luxurious, long-lasting fragrance while keeping things simple and stylish. They're a new product range for us but we tested out hundreds of diffusers in our own homes for over two years in the leadup to their launch. So we thought we'd share some tips and answer some FAQs about how to maximize their performance.
What do I need to get started?
All you need is one of our diffuser refills, currently available in five fragrances. The bottle comes with ten reeds, and you can place these reeds directly in the bottle to get started.
Alternatively, we also sell an elegant Glass Diffuser, which can be refilled with the liquid from any of the diffuser refills. You can also refill another brand's diffuser bottle.
How many reeds should I use?
The number of reeds you use depends on the size of your space and how strong you want the fragrance to be:
- For a subtle scent or for use in a very small room: start with 4-5 reeds
- For a more noticeable fragrance: use 6-8 reeds
- For larger rooms or stronger scent throw: use all 10 reeds
Where should I place my diffuser?
Always place your diffuser on a flat, stable surface to prevent spills. Reed diffuser liquid is flammable and toxic when consumed, so make sure that you place it away from heat sources and out of the reach of children and pets. Also avoid sunlight, which can cause the fragrance oil to evaporate too quickly, reducing the lifespan of your diffuser.
If you are trying to fragrance a large room, you might need more than one diffuser. You can also layer multiple diffuser fragrances; our team's current favorite is Dusk in Eden with Jardín Azteca.
Should I rotate the reeds?
Yes, rotating the reeds can help refresh the fragrance. Over time, the reeds can become saturated and less effective at diffusing scent. To maintain a consistent aroma, rotate the reeds every 1-2 weeks. Simply remove the them, flip them upside down, and place them back into the bottle.
Use a paper towel to handle the reeds, as they may be oily.
How long will my diffuser last?
The lifespan of your reed diffuser depends on several factors, including the number of reeds used and environmental conditions. We generally expect our diffusers to last 3-4 months.
To extend the life of your diffuser, consider capping the bottle when you’re away for extended periods.
What do I do when I'm ready to refill?
If you're using our Glass Diffuser or another brand's diffuser and are looking to refill it, please remember to replace both the liquid and the reeds. We encourage you to find a diffuser bottle that you love and refill it forever, helping to eliminate unnecessary waste.
